CISON DI VALMARINO · VENETO

A slower rhythm.

Stone, woodland and vineyard-covered hills. A place to wander, with time to stop and look around.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Stories in stone.

At the foot of the Treviso Prealps, Cison was for centuries the heart of the County of Valmareno. In 1436, Venice entrusted the fief to Gattamelata and Brandolino Brandolini; the Brandolini family later became its sole rulers. Castelbrando and the elegant buildings in the village still tell the story of that long chapter, woven into the life of the valley.

A LITTLE GUIDE TO CISON

01 · ART AND HISTORY

Around the square.

Start in Piazza Roma, framed by the parish church, the town hall and Teatro La Loggia, home to the vintage radio museum. Wander through the village lanes and look up towards Castelbrando, watching over the rooftops.

02 · NATURE AND WALKS

Follow the water.

The Via dell’Acqua follows the Rujo stream among old mills and greenery. The valley’s trails also lead towards the Bosco delle Penne Mozze, a woodland memorial to the Alpini: a place for a quiet walk and a moment of reflection.

03 · VIEWS AND VILLAGES

Among the hills.

Leave time for Rolle, a tiny village among the vineyards, and for the views along the Prosecco wine route. Nearby Follina, with its abbey, and the Revine lakes offer more ideas for a leisurely day exploring the area.
